03:46 pm - Slow rise after estrogen surge? Anovulatory? Late ovulation?
So my chart is giving me all sorts of issues this cycle. Since I'm inconsistent with CM and CP checks, that doesn't help anyone, but I was hoping I could get some feedback from you all. I've asked in several other groups and sites I'm on and I either get no feedback, or people just saying "yeah, that looks weird. Sorry, no idea what could be going on" (which is fine, but that's why I've finally back here, to see if anyone does have any idea what could be going on).

My cycles are around 28-30 days, with an LP of 13-14 days. I tend to ovulate anywhere from CD14-CD17.

FF had originally put O at CD17 this cycle, until my temperature plummeted a whole degree, at which point, FF was like "We have no idea what's going on here. Best of luck to you." As you can see, it's been a slow rise since then.

My fiance and I are TTW, and only used withdrawal during sex on my fertile days. I really don't think I'm pregnant, since we're pretty proficient at WD (peeing beforehand to flush out any swimmers, timing is always fine, etc.). I'm assuming my temp drop is just a HUGE estrogen surge (I usually get a little one anywhere from 4dpo to 7dpo), but it's the amount of the drop, and the slow rise after that's got me scratching my head.

Should I just chock it up to bodies doing weird body things? Should I pee on a stick? Just wait it out another few days to see what happens?? TIA, everyone.

Not sure what you mean by TTW ... it's been a long time since I used all the acronyms!

Could it be an implantation dip? Where are you today in your cycle? If you haven't yet, I'd POAS (you can get them at the dollar store and they're accurate) if for nothing else than peace of mind.

If the test is negative, absolutely chalk it up to bodies doing weird things!

Oh, did the weather change for you right around your temp drop? I know that sometimes affects my BBT.

TTW = trying to wait. A baby now wouldn't be the worst (it would just make wedding planning a bit more interesting since our date is May 2016).

I thought maybe implantation dip too, but the internet basically tells me not to bother looking for one or trying to get meaning from one because the statistics on who has them and who doesn't are pretty inconclusive. So I was thinking just a much larger estrogen surge than I've had. Today I'm CD31, and my cervix is very high and soft, and my vaginal walls feel fleshy and squishy, if that makes any sense (like, I really had to wriggle my finger around to maneuver high enough to reach my cervix). I'm sure it means nothing.

I'm thinking that if I still don't have my period in the next few days or so, I'll POAS, for the peace of mind as you say. And no, no weather changes. I wasn't even cold. :/ So who knows. Guess we'll find out soon enough, haha!

ETA When I change the settings from FAM to Advanced, FF gives me crosshairs. So I guess I really do need to wait and see -- maybe my cycle isn't as weird as I initially thought.

Looking at your new chart, it looks like you got the result you wanted! :D

And, just for kicks and giggles ... I POAS when I was 3 days late thinking I would "scare" my period in to starting. 39 and pregnant is my answer!

Since you're TTA, you probably don't want to go through the bother, but have you considered OPKs? Looking at this chart and the last one that shows up when I click through to see your chart, it looks like that post-O dip in temp isn't too weird for you, but I'd say it's entirely possible that this cycle is anovulatory.

I had a chart where it looked like I ovulated, temps stayed elevated for a week, and then they plummeted and that cycle went on for nearly three more weeks. That was when I had PCOS though, so that probably had a lot to do with it.

So maybe not helpful, but it looks anovulatory to me. I'd be tempted to just pick up some cheapie OPKs from amazon to confirm that your cycle is doing what you think it is, but if this is the first time it's been so weird, maybe it's the only time and it'll never happen again!

Well, last cycle my chart was a bust because I was in 3 different time zones and five states in one month, haha! I feel like I ovulated for sure last cycle though. My CM, CP, and libido all corresponded with it (even though it's not marked -- I kept commenting on how eggwhitey my CM was, haha).

Yeah, the only thing I can think is that this cycle is anovulatory. I had really bad cramps yesterday and a wet feeling and I was convinced I'd started my period before I had a chance to get my cup in, but when I went to check, there was no blood, not even a spot. My cervix is really high and really soft since last night though, so I don't know what that means, if anything. If my period was impending, my cervix would be much lower (at least, it has been in my experience of charting), and firmer.

But yeah, since we're trying to wait til after we're married, we've never bothered with OPKs. We just wait til my temperatures have been elevated a few days and my CM has dried up to go unprotected.

I guess we'll see in the next few days what all happens. :)
